The Asian range, defined automatically every session

RBO Asia Box identifies, calculates and displays the Asian session range directly on your ProRealTime chart, providing a consistent reference for analysing subsequent price behaviour.

The range is built using a fixed UTC reference, automatically converted to the corresponding Frankfurt/Berlin local time.

You do not need to manually calculate the Asian high and low or change the session times when European daylight saving time changes.

The problem

The Asian session range can provide an important reference for analysing the price behaviour that follows.

Drawing the range manually, however, introduces unnecessary work and can lead to inconsistent session definitions, especially when European clocks change between CET and CEST.

RBO Asia Box standardises this process.

Each session, the same range-building criteria are applied and the resulting reference is displayed directly on the chart.

The Box is also designed to provide the same session reference used by compatible components of the RBO Asia Edition ecosystem.

What you see on the chart

During formation, the Box dynamically follows the developing Asian range and displays

its FORMING state.

Once the range is complete, the chart can display:

• HIGH — upper boundary of the calculated range
• LOW — lower boundary of the calculated range
• Range size — expressed according to the instrument
• Horizontal HIGH and LOW references extending through the applicable analysis window
• Previous session boxes for historical visual comparison
• Historical range sizes
• Session/time reference

The result is a compact visual representation of the Asian session range without manually drawing it each day.

How it works

RBO Asia Box uses the following canonical UTC reference:

The underlying reference remains UTC.

Only its local Frankfurt/Berlin representation changes between winter and summer time.

No manual seasonal adjustment is required.

From formation to completed range

While the session is forming, the Box updates as new highs or lows are established.

After the formation window ends, the range becomes the completed session reference.

The HIGH and LOW levels remain visually available during the applicable analysis window.

Previous session boxes remain visible, allowing the current range to be compared with recent sessions without

manually measuring them.

How to interpret the range

RBO Asia Box provides context, not a trading instruction.

A larger or smaller range is not a buy or sell signal by itself.

For example, if recent Asian ranges were:

34 pips · 22 pips · 41 pips

and the current range is:

29 pips

the chart immediately provides a visual comparison with recent sessions.

The trader can then incorporate that information into their own methodology.

Example of use

Illustrative example — EURUSD, 15-minute chart, European summer time.

After completion of the Asian range, the chart could show:

RBO ASIA: 29 pips

HIGH: 1.08742

LOW: 1.08455

The HIGH and LOW references remain projected through the applicable analysis window.

Previous session boxes provide additional visual context.

No manual calculation is required to identify the current range or compare it with recent sessions.

Important technical note

The session is UTC-anchored, not based on a fixed European clock time.

This distinction is important because Frankfurt/Berlin observes European Daylight Saving Time while Tokyo does not.

The local representation therefore changes automatically:

Winter → CET → 01:00–07:59

Summer → CEST → 02:00–08:59

The underlying Asian session reference remains unchanged.
