The Weinstein Strategy screener scans markets for patterns according the Weinstein strategy. The goal is to detect the beginning of phase 2, the bullish phase of the 4-phase cycle.

A first filtering of stocks is carried out on the Daily time frame to ensure the minimum liquidity required.

• minimum stock price (for those who do not wish to have a penny in the results for example)
• minimum average volume (expressed in number of transactions or capital exchanged) to have the desired level of liquidity on the stock.

Results are sorted according to the position of the current price :

• 102 = breaking out the consolidation following the mobile average break out,
• 101 = breaking out the last resistance before mobile average break out,
• 2 = configuration 2,
• 1 =  configuration 1.

Adjustable parameters can be used to filter Weinstein configurations. All the settings can be made without having to modify the code, using the screener’s ‘variables’ menu.

The values shown above are given, as examples and do not constitute an optimal or recommended setting, everyone should find his own settings.

Adjustable validation criteria :

• Mobile average period,
• Mobile average type (EMA, SMA, WMA, …)
• Minimum percentage drop before the srtockprice breakout the mobile average (phase validation),
• Number of candles scanned to validate the phase 4,
• Minimum consolidation percentage after the mobile average break out.

Available filters :

• Maximum distance over the mobile average break out,
• Mobile average bullish or neutral,
• Maximum percentage from mobile average break out to resistance.

General filter :

• Minimum stock price,
• Minimum average volume,
• Average volume expressed in transaction number or in capital exchanged.
