DJ30 MICRO TREND 8 HOURS Automated long-only trend-following system for the Micro E-mini Dow Jones 30 futures, designed for the 8-hour timeframe and ProOrder/AutoTrading. It trades one contract at a time. HOW IT WORKS The system enters long when momentum recovers (RSI crossing above a threshold) while the daily weighted moving average is rising. It exits on momentum exhaustion, with a second confirmation based on the last price low formed since entry, or on an extreme overbought reading. The system never trades short. The code is protected and not visible to the buyer. BACKTEST (May 6, 2019 – Sep 18, 2026, 1 Micro contract, $3,000 starting capital) – Annualized return: +24.1% – Max drawdown (intra-trade, worst case): -22.4% – Profit factor: 4.94 – Winning trades: 77% – Closed trades: 30 – Commission included: $3 per side The $3,000 starting capital was approximately 25% of the contract’s notional value at the start of the test. Note: the first trade of the backtest took place in July 2020. Annualized return is measured over the full test period. CAPITAL REQUIREMENTS Approximately 25% of the contract’s notional value or more is recommended. At current index levels (Dow around 51,700) this is roughly $6,500 per Micro contract. A lower capital increases the percentage drawdown you will experience.
