For almost a year now, we have begun an intensive phase of developing and refining the idea behind the Dragon500. We spent months analyzing, rigorously testing and monitoring the S&P500 in real time to create a strategy that harmoniously balances profitability and risk mitigation and we have succeeded in doing so, the strategy lends itself perfectly to the 5min timeframe of the S&P500 entering the market reactively and closing the trade precisely, it mainly works in trend following which it is able to identify thanks to precise filters and to avoid false signals and at the same time it remains simple not overoptimized, it has also an interesting trailing stop algorithm based on the price action which makes flawless in the execution of trades as evidenced by its high profit factor.

We verified the system by also carrying out “out of sample” tests starting from June 2023, in order to confirm its validity beyond historical data. As can be seen from the data carried out by the tests, it is an excellent strategy. On the 5 minute s&p500 at €1 per point (US 500 cash €1) at 1.5 spread is able to generate about €4500 in less than 3 years (200k bars 5 min) with only 2 size contracts, the drawdown is extremely small and has a good profit factor.  A size of 2 contracts on S&P500 cash (€1) requires around €500 of margin capital which is low considering the returns, so even a small initial capital of €1000 would be enough to get started.
